What a wonderful collection. They could make a fabulous set of prints; black and white would be my choice but it’s not for everyone.

When I was a child, growing up in west wales I played outside a lot, with friends, or alone if none were forthcoming. I was quite obsessed with the various little people that I believed were just on the edge of my vision. Once I played a game where two long strands of ivy hanging down into the stream were the frame of a portal into the land of the faeries, and I went back and through it a few times, hoping I’d get to visit the ‘other side’ of our world where they were real. Later, in my teens, when things got weird for a while (as they often do for teens growing up in the countryside), I wondered whether that had been a good idea….
